Mary V. Welk to Appear at the Beverly Branch Library December 6th at 7:00 pm

Author Mary V. Welk will be reading and signing her holiday murder mystery, A Merry Little Murder, at the Beverly Branch Library located at 2121 W. 95th Street, Chicago, on Thursday evening, December 6th at 7:00 pm. The event is co-sponsored by Reading on Walden Bookstore your online community bookseller. The book is published by Echelon Press.

Lighting a Christmas tree at St. Anne’s Hospital results in a big bang! The question for police is who planted the bomb that wrecks havoc in the little town of Rhineburg? A frustrated employee fired by St. Anne’s despised administrator? A student terrorist from Bruck University? Or Caroline Rhodes, a nurse with a suspicious past who survived the explosion but refuses to discuss it? Tagged as a suspect by the FBI, Caroline must prove her innocence by unraveling a devilish plot devised to eliminate one man’s nemesis. Aided by history professor Carl Atwater, Caroline cuts through a maze of conflicting stories, red herrings, and downright lies to bring a killer to justice.

Mary V. Welk has drawn on her experience as an ER nurse to develop these unique characters. A native of Chicago, Mary is a member of Sisters in Crime. She has served on the Board of the Midwest Chapter of Mystery Writers of America and as a reviewer for Library Journal, Mystery Scene Magazine, and Reviewingtheevidence.com.
