General Wesley Clark opened Friday’s session of the YearlyKos at McCormick Place with a rousing speech on the administration’s
approach to Iraq. “Let’s give the troops the kind of diplomatic help they need,” he urged.
He urged progressives to talk about the administration’s Iraq policies rather than military tactics.
The troops have done their job and done it with self-sacrifice and courage, Clark noted. He urged that progressives raise the dialogue.
“When we argue about the troops, we’re playing on George Bush’s home court.”
Instead, Clark urged his audience to respond to the President by saying:
“We’re NOT questioning the troops.
We’re questioning YOU!
Stop hiding behind General Petreus!”
