Today’s Observations – 7/12/2007

BARACK OBAMA,
MAN OF STEEL

It is no secret that I am a partisan Barack Obama supporter (and activist I might add). The Clinton PR machine is busily at work leaking things like these polls that show Hillary closing the gap in Illinois. Don’t you believe it for a minute. I am still predicting that she will fizzle (they already recognize this as evidenced by Bill Clinton’s increased presence on the campaign trail) before the Iowa primary and people like Governor Bill Richardson will gain some strength. I know Senator Obama personally and one thing you may not know is that he has tremendous inner strength. And mentally tough. He is solidly put together. A mind like a steel trap. Well, Superman. A quality needed in our next President of the United States.

PUNISHMENT DOESN’T FIT THE CRIME, IN FACT, IF IT DOESN’T FIT, ANYWAY, WHAT CRIME?
Just a few observations: Former WMAQ-TV reporter Amy Jacobson is guilty of a “lapse in judgment” and nothing more. Certainly not severe enough to warrant losing her job. On the upside, some smart local television executive looking to boost ratings will pick her up in short order, I predict.

GUEST BLOGGERS WANTED
Would you like to be a guest blogger on this fast-growing blog? Looking for authors, book reviewers, movie reviewers, knowledgeable people of the Beverly Hills/Morgan Park community specifically, the Chicago area generally, left-leaning political folks (well-formed ideas also considered).

We are also in the planning stages of several new blogs, specifically a gardening blog that will tie into the BHMP Garden Walk, possibly a fitness/health blog and several other areas. A community portal is the eventual goal.

Interested. Send me an email at readingonwalden@att.net just by clicking send me an email. Looking forward to hearing from you. John Presta.

  1. Fargo Says:

A gardening blog and a fitness/health blog are both great ideas – definitely areas where I’d like to participate.

  2. Reading on Walden BookStore Says:

Great. That will happen sooner rather than later, especially the gardening blog. John Presta.
