Fiddler on the Roof song, "If I were a Rich Man" or "Senator Obama has become a rich man" Yubby dibby dibby dibby dibby dibby dibby dum

In one of my favorite musicals, Fiddler on the Roof, this songs reflects our constant struggle for respectability. A great metaphor for modern life. Respectability, “that would be the sweetest thing of all,” sings Reb Tevye.

Our friend, Senator Barack Obama, has truly become a “rich man” in the altruistic sense of those words. It is not the 32 million dollars plus he has raised, but the more impressive total of a quarter million donors he has enlisted. Of those, 90% have yet to max out in the legally allowed campaign donations. That, my friends, is the sweetest thing of all. John Presta.
